Barbara Riley-Baker has been has been
working as a care manager in
Pinellas
County, on Florida’s West Coast, since
1995. She holds a Bachelor's Degree, Graduate
Certificate, and a Master’s Degree in
Gerontology from the
University
of South Florida. Her internship
was with Neighborly Senior Services, one of
the largest lead agencies in the U. S.
Ms. Riley-Baker joined the National
Association of Geriatric Care Managers in
1996 and was nationally certified in 1998.
She was elected the Unit Chairperson for the
Tampa Bay Unit of the Florida Geriatric Care
Managers Association for two years and was
also the State Treasurer of the Florida
Chapter of the National Association of
Professional Geriatric Care Managers for a
two year term. Barbara is also a
Credentialed Professional Gerontologist (C.P.G.)
through the National Association of
Professional Gerontologist.
Barbara's goal as a care manager is to
"empower
the older person in maintaining their
independence and dignity as they move
through the aging process and health care
system.". As a resident of
Pinellas
County for the past thirty plus years she
been active in the community and knows the
area and the resources well.
